Town midfielder calls time on Swindon stay…

27 January 2023

Swindon Town can today confirm midfielder Ben Gladwin has left the club to join fellow League Two side Crawley for an undisclosed fee, subject to EFL approval.

The 30-year-old, who was in his fourth spell with The Robins, heads to West Sussex where he’ll be reunited with former Town boss Scott Lindsey.

After spending three years in the Reading academy, Gladwin signed his first professional contract at Swindon back in November 2013, making his debut for the club in an EFL Trophy fixture the following month.

He went on to score eight times in 47 games for Town before moving to Queens Park Rangers in May 2015, however, he’d return to the County Ground for the first of two loan spells later that season, netting twice in 13 outings.

In January 2017, he’d head back to Wiltshire on another temporary deal, where 18 appearances brought another two goals.

In June 2017, he ended his time at QPR to join Blackburn Rovers before penning a permanent deal with Swindon in July 2021.

During his fourth spell at SN1, Gladwin became a first-team regular, making more than 50 appearances in red and white and contributing six goals.

We’d like to thank Ben for his commitment, drive and leadership during his time here at the football club, and wish him all the best for the future.
